Steve Jobs

October 6, 2011

Well I had no idea that I would get this site up just a day before the passing of Steve Jobs. I hardly know what to say. The closest I ever got to him was watching him on a video projector when he was presenting one room away. He wouldn’t have known me from Adam. Like many other Apple technology fans Steve had a dramatic affect on my occupational life. I have always loved technology but had all but decided to get out of it… Then I touched my first Mac. It was so well thought out as a tool for people in comparison with all the other computers of the era. The others basically made the person conform to the machine. He was responsible for bringing (nontechnical) creative people into the world of technology. The momentum he created affected every computer user. Whether you are an Apple product user or not your computer is friendlier and hence a more powerful tool due to Steve’s influential leadership. His influence reinvented countless industries: printing, video and film production, graphic art, music, education, communication, and many others. I am at the same time hopeful but doubtful that a visionary of his caliber is “waiting in the wings… I would think that Steve would not want his legacy to merely run on momentum until it runs down. (Like Apple was headed in the mid ’90s) He will be greatly missed even by those of us who just enjoyed his influence from afar.

The Adventure Begins

This is a domain I have had for a number of years knowing I would eventually need it but did not have the time to do what was necessary to have it doing anything useful…  Now I do.    Please be patient while I learn.
